Who is behind this guide

We are an international freight forwarder based in Břeclav and have been arranging road freight across Europe since 2011. We don’t own trucks – we book vehicles with more than 500 contracted carriers. We wrote this site for businesses that import from southern Europe now and then and want to know what to ask a carrier.

Why we wrote this guide

Our dispatch desk regularly hears from buyers who have an order placed with a supplier in Spain or Italy but no idea what a carrier will need from them. We kept explaining the same things: what a loading metre is, why stackability matters, what EXW means, how to note damage on the consignment note. So we put the answers in one place – for anyone to use, including people who end up booking their transport elsewhere.

How we work

  • One dispatcher per job – from quote to paperwork, you know who to call.
  • Carriers with a track record – we book hauliers we have already run these routes with and whose documents we have checked.
  • We liaise with your supplier – we agree the collection slot and conditions with the warehouse abroad ourselves.
  • Paperwork after delivery – signed CMR consignment note and our invoice.

Why southern Europe

Trucks that carry goods from the Czech Republic to Spain, Portugal, France and Italy have to come back and need a load. It is on these return runs that we find space even for smaller shipments.
